Marathon Diversity Team Visit

Thanks to the Marathon Diversity Team for visiting our classroom, sharing a book, and doing an art project with us. Hannah was excited to have her mom as one the team members to visit our classroom. I was also glad that my son, Ryan, was part of the team that visited our classroom. Thanks Marathon!!

Turbo the Turtle

Kahne's turtle visited class this week. We learned lots about all kinds of turtles and had fun observing Turbo.

Elements of the Story Jack and Rick

This week we read Jack and Rick. We worked in groups to illustrate and tell about the different elements of the story.

Ants

We read the story Ants in our reading book and spent the week learning lots of things about ants.

Rainbow Name Clouds

Our room looks really colorful with the Rainbow Name Clouds we made today to hang from our ceiling.

Cat Kisses

Our first choral reading for the year, Cat Kisses. First we played Guess the Covered Word while we practiced the poem several times and tried to use clues from the context of the poem as well as beginning sounds to discover several missing words. Then we made cat puppets and practiced reading the poem in groups.

We read the book This Hat to go with our reading theme this week. We made ourselves the stars of our own This Hat books.

Leader In Me Bubble Celebration

We celebrated a great start to our year and with bubbles and a Leader in Me Celebration.

Magnet Science

Paula Wiseman, Rachel's mom and our science lady, came to class last week did a science experiment with our class. We discovered that you can turn a straight pin into a magnet by rubbing the straight and another magnet together. It was almost like magic!! Some of us even got several pins to stick together as magnets.
