Marathon's diversity team visited our first grade classrooms in Dacember. They read the book Chrysanthemum to our class and donated a copy of the book to our class library. We were excited that Mrs. Corn's son, Ryan, was Marathon's guest reader for our class.

Snowflake, Our Elf on the Shelf

Our class had fun with our Elf on the Shelf in December. It was exciting each morning upon arrival to try to be the first person to locate her. Everyone wrote about what we should name her and then we voted on the name Snowflake. We found her in lots of fun places in our classroom throughout the month. The boys and girls enjoyed keeping a journal of Snowflake's escapades in our classroom by writing about where we found her each morning.

We have enjoyed several guest readers this year. This is the first posting but look for the others to follow in the next few days. Taylor's guest reader in December was her dad, Bob Coffman. The class loved listening to his story.
