First Day of First Grade Fun

Rainbow Names

We did some name activities to get to know one another.

This Hat

The first week of school our reading series featured a story, The Hat. We also read another book, This Hat, on our SMART Board and then everyone made their own version of This Hat to keep and share with their families.

Hidden Names

Each day we erase and uncover the letters to someone's name hidden on the SMART Board. The letters are all mixed up and we arrange them to spell the student's name. That student is our leader and star of the day the next day. It is always exciting to discover you are the star of the day!
