In our skills group we read about Foods Around the World and then wrote about our favorite meal. We used Pixie 2 to illustrate and then record our voices. Warning, some of our meals may make your mouth water!

Planet Earth

During Earth Day week we discussed many ways we could help the Earth. Last week we read some books about Earth and watched a video clip about the Earth. We read The Important book and then used the pattern of writing to write about what is important about our Earth. Then we put it together with an art activity. Bunny Cinquains

In April we wrote bunny cinquains. After writing the poems, the boys and girls used a new program, Pixie 2, the PTO purchased for our class to illustrate and record their voices. Enjoy their cinquains and thanks WGS PTO for getting us this cool new program!!!

We Have Babies!

Happy Easter! I checked the eggs this morning and was greeted by one very newly hatched duck and one almost there. The rest continue to look good. Looks like you'll have lots of little quackers to greet you on Tuesday morning boys and girls!! I was lucky enough to catch the second one as he was actually hatching. I'll keep you updated later today.

We're Hatching

Our class has been taking care of 10 duck eggs in an incubator in our classroom. According to our dates the ducks should hatch next Tuesday when we return to school from our Easter break. When I went to check the eggs this morning I found that 9 of the 10 eggs had begun the hatching process. As of 6:00 this evening they were all still doing fine but no ducks had hatched. If you listen carefully to the video you can hear the ducks pecking their way out. You can also hear them cheeping inside the eggs. Looks like we may have Easter ducks.

Blink the Patchwork Bunny

The class enjoyed the book Blink the Patchwork Bunny. It is a story about a multi-colored Easter Rabbit. Then we made our own Blinks. The boys and girls did a great job on making them very colorful.
