Black Cat On the Fence

Our class guess the covered words in the poem Black Cat on the Fence. Then we built the lines of the poem on our SMARTBoard. Next the boys and girls found words on a mixed up version of the poem. After that they put the words together in order to build their own copy of the poem. After we finished the poem everyone had fun illustrating their poem.

Building Words

This week have had fun using our Document Camera with letter tiles and the fridge magnets on our SMART Board. We have been racing to build words. We use the dual screen feature on our SMART Board. One person gets to build the word on the SMART Board with fridge magnets and the other builds the word with letter tiles under the document camera. It's been so much fun!!

Roll the Dice

We worked very hard on math and phonics assessments today. Then we had some fun in math playing a game. We rolled two dice on the SMART Board and then added the numbers together beginning with the largest number and counting on. We made a graph of the equations according to the answers to see which one would reach the top first. It was lots of fun to practice math today!!

Beginning Week Two

We started our second week of school today. The boys and girls predicted what our reading story will be about by erasing the SMART Board a little at a time to reveal a hidden picture. We worked on writing numbers in math and discussed the long o sound in phonics. This afternoon we worked on the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom trees we painted with Mrs. Beard last week. Everyone made themselves climbing the tree to see something that begins like their name. Most of us will finish them tomorrow.

Two Digit Addition

We have been practicing counting money using dimes and pennies. Today we began practicing two digit addition using dimes and pennies. We had a store on our SMART Board today. We picked two things to buy and counted the dimes and pennies needed to buy each thing. We then added the two together to see how much it would cost to buy both items. Practice some two digit addition at home. The boys and girls are really good at it already!

Counting Coins on Our SMART Board

We have been practicing buying things using dimes and pennies. We picked items on our SMART Board that we would like to purchase and then counted the correct amount of money to purchase the item on our board. It would be great practice for the boys and girls to practice counting with dimes and pennies at home.

Senteo Clickers

The boys and girls are having a great time practicing things we are learning as well as showing what they have learned using our Senteo Clickers. We use the with our SMART Board. Each student has their own clicker and are able to choose their answer for questions presented on the board. Really makes practicing skills and learning lots of fun!!!
